01 · Floors

Tiles that stay flat.

A porcelain tiled floor sectionA porcelain tiled floor section, taken apart into its layers
Porcelain tile1 / 5
Porcelain, not ceramic.

Fired harder and denser, so it barely absorbs water and stands up to a frost.

Flexible adhesive2 / 5
Bonds that can flex.

A flexible adhesive moves with the floor as it heats and cools, so tiles stay stuck.

Uncoupling membrane3 / 5
Cracks stop here.

A membrane separates tile from screed, so movement below never reaches the surface.

Levelled screed4 / 5
A dead flat base.

A levelled screed lets big format tiles sit flat, with no lipping between them.

Underfloor heating5 / 5
Warm underfoot.

Pipes in the screed heat the room evenly and free up wall space.

02 · Doors

A front door built in layers.

A sage green composite front doorA sage green composite front door, taken apart into its layers
Composite skin1 / 5
Looks like timber. Won't warp.

A tough outer skin that won't rot, fade or need painting.

Weather seals2 / 5
Sealed all the way round.

Seals on every edge keep out draughts and driving rain.

Multipoint lock3 / 5
Locks at more than one point.

Hooks and bolts lock the door into the frame down its height.

Insulated core4 / 5
Warm through the middle.

A dense insulating core keeps heat in and gives a solid, quiet close.

Reinforced frame5 / 5
Strong where it counts.

A reinforced inner frame holds lock and hinges firm. Ask us about PAS 24 rated doors.

03 · Windows

Glazing that keeps the heat in.

An anthracite aluminium windowAn anthracite aluminium window, taken apart into its layers
Toughened outer pane1 / 5
Safety glass outside.

Toughened glass is far stronger than standard glass and breaks into small, blunt pieces.

Warm edge spacer2 / 5
No cold edges.

Warm edge spacers between the panes cut condensation round the glass.

Argon filled3 / 5
Gas, not air.

Argon between the panes insulates better than air, so less heat escapes.

Low-E coating4 / 5
Heat bounces back in.

An invisible coating on the inner pane reflects room heat back inside.

Thermally broken frame5 / 5
Slim frame, no cold bridge.

A break inside the aluminium frame stops the cold travelling through.
